Maintenance Technician

Greenstar North America is currently recruiting a Maintenance Technician at our Paterson, New Jersey plant.

Maintenance Technicians at Greenstar repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment.

Responsibilities include:

• Trouble-shooting and dismantling devices to gain access to, remove, repair and replace defective parts; restart devices to test performance
• Replacing head/tail pulleys, bearings, skirting and belts
• Installing and adjusting special functional and structural parts of devices and control instruments
• Setting up and operating a lathe, drill press, grinder, and/or other metalworking tools to make and repair parts
• Repairing electrical equipment and motor-control systems, such as relays, contactors,and starters
• Sizing and running conduit

Requirements include:

• A high school diploma or the equivalent, or a combination of education and experience
• A minimum 3-5 years progressive work experience
• The ability to lift, lower, bend, reach, grasp, carry, slide, move and identify parts, supplies and tools and may require the physical ability to lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds unassisted
• The willingness to perform other duties and assume other responsibilities not listed above as required

This position may have a greater than average exposure to dust, dirt, odor, and noise, and the job duties may be performed at elevated or subterranean locations in the plant.
