Greenstar North America is looking for an industrial maintenance technician for their facility in Des Moines, IA. The candidate must should be self confident, energetic and have good work ethics.

SUMMARY :

Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties.

DUTIES :

• Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
• Must be familiar with trouble-shooting motor-control systems (relays, contactors, starters, photocells, etc...) along with sizing and running conduit.
• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
• Must have experience replacing head/tail pulleys, bearings, and skirting. Experience replacing belts a plus.
• Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
• Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts.
• Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
• Starts devices to test their performance.
• Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
• Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
• Repairs electrical equipment.
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirement:

0. Minimum two years work experience
0. High school graduate
0. Position requires ability to lift, lower, bend, reach, grasp, carry, slide, move and identify parts, supplies and tools and may require the physical ability to lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds unassisted.
0. Position may have a greater than average exposure to dust, dirt, odor, and noise. At times, work may be performed at elevated or subterranean locations.
0. Willingness to accept, within reason, other duties, positions, functions, and responsibilities not listed above as required
0. Must be flexible to work second or third shifts
